Article Response (last one)
“The Accidental Masterpiece”. This titile gave me something. I think what article says to us is that sometimes, unexpected accident can make better outcome than we think. I thought it was interesting when we discussed in class about the artist who used thirty-six one dollar bills to illustrate a one dollar bill, and the final piece was purchased for more than thirty-six dollars. That idea seemed to tie in with the urinal example from the article. In reality, when you think about it, what’s the difference between Duchamp’s 'Fountain' and an ordinary urinal? I mean art world is crazy! They are buying 'Themes' not 'product'. Like Nam June Paik said, Art is Fraud! But thank god that this article says people are more enjoying to go to museum than go to baseball field!
Article Response (Walker & Barrett)
In Walker's article, he says the term 'big idea', and I think that is really important when you start artistic work. Like he says in the article, brainstorming is very important process to accomplish the art work.. I think brainstorming is very useful, and I have used it mostly for English class projects. It is always helpful because a simple word can be associated. Also, in article, there are many explanation about brainstorming and instruction, meanings. This made me think of the reason of brainstorming and how there are so many things a person could make in an art piece by using big ideas.
I see the connections between using big ideas and art production. In the Barrett article, I really liked the idea of making process that cut and past version of Ray Charles drawing. I thought it was interesting how each person will look and use the environment (or sources in my words) and gives total different outcome. I also liked the analysis of the denotations and connotations in the Rolling Stone cover with Destiny’s Child was interesting. It was surprising that using magazine and mix total different person, and make one complete new face gave huge shock to me.
I think it was a very straightforward article, and also it was easier to under stand than the last two articles, so I really enjoyed it.

Article Response (Cheese monkey & hazard zone)
I thought the “The Cheese Monkeys” article had a very interesting ideas about the relationship between oposite and our society. For example, everybody say move left to right, and also we read texts left to right. Why we act like this? Because we had been educated that way? or because our brain set that way? From this article, we can ask ourselves about black & White theory and how that works. Such as Top vs Bottom, small vs big, or good vs. evil
I am really like his writing style. It has a somewhat of a comical tone to it, so I really like it. However, I am confused by the article title. After reading the article a couple times, I still do not see how the prelude and the rest of the article relate to each other.
This 'hazard zone' article had dealt with many basketball theme. It was very interesting how the author compared basketball to art. In basketball the players have to be creative to get through the tough defender, and they are praised and remembered for their moves, but if someone is creative with their art work, for example like Jackson Pollock, it takes a while for people to catch on sometimes.
I thought that changing rule to basketball is a very interesting idea, but for me author claim about changing rule means no rule. I mean, there is no rule in art, but if you set the right way, then it is easier to make better art, and I guess no-rule means think freely!!!

Final Project
Well, since my final PJ is 600 mb, so I already showed my video in the class. This project had many meaning to me. First, I made clip for my birth place, which is Chicago. Korea is the place where I had my childhood. California is the place where I graduated my high school. A kid who plays piano is myself because I used to play piano when I was in elementary student. New York is the place where I used to work, and Ohio is the place where I am staying now. As you can see, I am a person who had been everywhere. I guess that makes me something special
I had to install YouTube downloader, to download many videos which connects to my theme, and I used 4 different music videos and 6 different city views. I used Logic Pro to make BGM. It took a lot of time to make this video, but it was fun because it could express myself in short way. I know it is too cliche, but sometimes cliche can give best message toward audiences. I believe this clip can show 'who I am'.
